CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST PROVIDING CHILD, ADOLESCENT, ADULT, COUPLES, AND FAMILY THERAPY.
All of us periodically need help to see ourselves more clearly, and to develop ways of living richer, fuller lives.
I am a private practice mental health professional who provides psychotherapy to individuals (children, adolescents, adults), families and couples who desire help with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), adjustment disorders, communication difficulties, sexual abuse sequelae, stress management, bereavement/grief/loss, gender issues/sexual identity, life crises, relationship or marital problems, intimacy problems, divorce, eating issues/disorders, low self-esteem or self-criticism, perfectionism, anger, family of origin trauma, co-dependency, and stress management.
My focus in treatment is to improve how a client perceives and navigates life's challenges and transitions. I strive to help clients better understand their relationships, personal needs and abilities, and to identify options for achieving more control and direction in their lives. Further, I work to assist clients in processing thoughts, feelings, behaviors or attitudes that derail them from achieving their goals. At times therapy work may include exploring a client's past in order to better understand how previous experiences or relationships influence the client's present life. Other times, the counseling work focuses directly on developing and/or expanding more adaptive coping skills in personal or work relationships.
